Professional Poker Tour

The Professional Poker Tour (PPT) is another venture of the WPT Enterprises, Inc., which also handles the World Poker Tour poker tournaments and franchise.

PPT was launched on November 9th, 2005, at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino. The great poker professional John Juanda became the first PPT winner and received $225,000 for his efforts and skills.

The Professional Poker Tour is a series of freeroll tournaments, which means that the prize money comes from sponsors rather than from the players' buy-ins, as is the case in most other tournaments. Whereas anyone canplay on the WPT, Professional Poker Tour tournaments are only open to players who have proven themselves on the tournament circuit, Like players who has won the World Series of Poker main event automatically qualifies for a "Three-Year Card".

Therefore, players are chosen by invitation, the PPt also has no restrictions on players' ability to play in other tournaments or leagues. Based on pre-approval, players may wear sponsorship logos that comply with the rules of the PPT.
